Face to face with the God of sense

The "Face-to-Face" person is Moses. There was never again one like him, says the Bible, "who spoke to God face to face." Moses is the subject of chapter 10 of the book. What did Moses know that others failed to grasp? Then he hit the rock, as the illustration is meant to show. And then the big question: Why was Moses removed from office just as his mission neared completion? This question has not received the attention it deserves.
